The Pan African Christian AIDS Network (PACANet ) convened a symposium 1-4 Dec 2005 of Christian organizations and individuals involved in the response to HIV/AIDS in Africa. The theme was “Improving the Standard: Building Partnerships with the Faith Based Community.” Over 200 participants from 37 countries including an SIM related contingent met together in Abuja, Nigeria before the 2005 International Conference on AIDS and STDs in Africa (ICASA). A position paper (695KB) developed at the symposium on “The role of churches in strengthening the family in the context of HIV/AIDS in Africa” is available at www.pacanet.net Congratulations to all those in SIM, the Ethiopian Kale Heywot ACTS Medan project and The ECWA AIDS Ministry, Nigeria who had the following presentations accepted at ICASA.
