2006-04-2816:11:16 Abwong Team We just got a report by email from Jimmy Cox, the SIM South Sudan Coordinator. Jimmy just got back to Nairobi from South Sudan. The EMS missionaries are now at their stations, Abwong and Atar. Atar Team He sent some pictures of the 2 places, and a picture of the entire Ethiopian and Nigerian team before they left Nairobi, after their orientation was over. Jimmy said A'isha prepared a nice meal of fish at their station after a local Sudanese fish seller had sold them some fish. Pray for Ruth Nadab. She is expecting their child and is waiting for delivery in Nairobi. There are no health facilities in South Sudan, so it is safer for her to have the baby in Kenya. Praise the Lord that more support has come in for the couples waiting in Nigeria to go after the rains end. More support needs to be prayed in. ![New missionary team at end of Nairobi orientation]()
South Sudan Mission Team SIM and ECWA (SIM's Nigerian partner church), along with missionaries from Ethiopia, have a vision to help develop the country and disciple the church. Eight Nigerian missionaries have been selected by ECWA to be the pioneer missionaries for that task. They will be teaching literacy, training teachers, starting schools, and discipling believers over the next three years. They will be supported from within ECWA churches and from overseas partners. You can be part of this great opportunity by praying for them as they prepare to go and supporting them financially. See more details, and give online.* By God's grace these hearty, dedicated brothers and sisters will be in East Africa for orientation early this year (2006).* If you want to give online or through your local SIM office, please include the fact that you are supporting the Nigerian missionaries to Sudan. |
