Volunteer craftsmen needed for Egbe Hospital Revitalization Project

egbe2 300Samaritan's Purse is putting out the following call for craftsmen to help with the project to revitalize Egbe Hospital.

The love of Christ is being proclaimed as patients receive care at Egbe Hospital in Egbe, Nigeria. Strategically located between two major cities, the hospital is a resource for doctors and nurses in training, a ground for healing the sick, and a mission field for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Egbe Hospital was founded almost 60 years ago and is in desperate need of revitalization so this mission can continue. Samaritan's Purse is asking for volunteers with many different skills to make the revitalization a reality. Opportunities for electricians, masons, carpenters, landscapers, and painters are now available. Round-trip airfare to Nigeria will be subsidized by $1000, in addition to the cost of food, lodging, and in-country transportation for all volunteers. Teachers needed at strategic seminary in Igbaja

Campus of ETSIECWA Theological Seminary, Igbaja (ETSI) is located about 80 km from the large city of Ilorin. (See map below.)

The school offers Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral level qualifications in various disciplines including theology, pastoral studies, Christian education, mission and evangelism, church administration, pastoral counselling and organisational leadership. There is a library of around 20,000 volumes. We were very impressed with the chapel building (photo at left), constructed in 1998 with help from SIM.

Usually there are about 450 students during normal semesters with a further 45 in the doctoral programme (D. Min.). At present there are 260 in the summer programme. Extension centres in Ilorin, Ibadan, Lagos, Abeokuta and Kabba cater for another 65 students.
