Line 13: Amin (Ā̀min)

 

“Allā̀h yà …” is a very common formula, invoking God to do something: bring healing, blessing, comfort, resurrection and so on. Virtually always, the proper response (from all the listeners) is “ā̀min.” So, if you hear that introductory part, “Allā̀h yà …,” say “ā̀min” even if you don't know exactly what blessing you're seconding!

  • Listen several times to the tone and flow.
  • Try imitating the tone and rhythm in the “la-da-da” or humming voice.
  • Listen to and repeat the phrase until you match the speaker closely.
