To, sai gobe (Tô, sai gṑbe)

  • This is similar to the farewell in the previous conversation, “sai wani lōkàcī.” “Gṑbe” means tomorrow. There are several ways of saying goodbye, and most involve “sai…” meaning “until….” “Until tomorrow,” “until later,” “until sometime,” “until you return,” and “until the morning” are some of the most common.
  • Listen several times to the tone and flow.
  • Try imitating the tone and rhythm in the “la-da-da” or humming voice.
  • Listen to and repeat the phrase until you match the speaker closely.
