Kano Resource Center Dedicated

Dedication of resource center

About 100 ECWA pastors, elders and lay leaders joined our SIM missionaries to rejoice over the dedication of the ECWA Kano Resource Center on August 30th, 2008. The Resource Center was "dedicated to God for equipping His servants in Northern Nigeria." It includes a classroom/reading room, theological library, children’s library, and teacher’s center.

The initial vision of a resource center was conceived in the mid 90s when Jinhee Lee and Terry and Sue Hammack considered a center where ECWA pastors and lay leaders in Kano could continue their Bible education, receive specialized training in English language and other skills, and enjoy the use of a theological library and reading area for formal learning.

As the years passed, Tom andHeidi Jessurun arrived in Kano with the similar vision and began to teach Bible classes in a large classroom, which was once an SIM garage.

From that beginning, what started as a discussion about 15 years ago has finally become reality for Kano and our current SIM missionaries, the Jessuruns, Hammacks, and newcomer, Mary Paulson.
